ARTIFACTS 29. Now, Jillian apparently thought Kerry was a threat to her position with Quentin, whatever that was or might be. Kerry shifted uncomfortably and kept her head down looking at her textbook as Mr. Mulroney went over the quadratic formula and how it applied to the two story problems the class was working on. After what felt like hours, Kerry chanced a look out of the corner of her eye at Jillian, and then quickly looked away when she saw that Jillian was still staring at her. She felt her cheeks burning as she stared down at her desk, wishing desperately for one of those moments in movies where the teacher noticed a kid not paying attention in class and called on the kid.
