This is interesting. I’ve seen examples online, but this is my first chance to examine one up close. As someone who enjoys (amateurishly) creating jewelry now & then, unusual pieces like this can get my wheels turning! Have you ever noticed there were vintage jewelry designers who refused to follow preconceived “rules”? I LOVE trying to decipher their reasoning. For example: we have a rather long necklace here (34” total), primarily consisting of very familiar oval links—which compose a majority of the piece (21”). [FYI—that’s 62%.] The other 13” of the necklace is made of “box”-links beautifully threaded with navy blue ribbon. [38%.] What makes this particular styling seem to break the rules (imo) is that the box chain with woven ribbon is stationed at the BACK of the necklace—or would seem so, since that’s where the lobster clasp closure is located. Do you wear the the closure in front? SO many questions! Measurements: 6mm x 8mm x 34” I’d love to hear your thoughts!
