We not to ship to CA. Sorry. Also called wild black cherry, rum cherry, bird cherry or mountain black cherry. A stunning, scented show-stopper of a tree. In spring, nectar-loving animals flock to this beautiful tree for its almond-scented blossom. Black Cherry is the largest of the wild cherry trees. Prized as an ornamental tree, it changes with each season. In spring, the Black Cherry Tree blooms with fragrant five-inch long flower clusters. In summer, flowering turns into dark red berries, but when ripe, changes to dark purple / black. During the fall, its leaves turn beautiful shades of yellow, orange, and red. The average growth rate of the North American Black Cherry Tree is 2 feet a year, reasonably quickly for a tree. The fruits have a unique taste and can be eaten fresh or used to make jams. USDA Zone: 3-9 The tree starts out very cone shaped and grows 25-40 ft tall. Light Exposure: Full Sun You will get a wonderful seedling with a good root system (as in the last 2 photos)
