This continued insistence thst we fork over $30 to see a movie and another TWENTY-NINE DOLLARS for popcorn, soda, and a box of candy, smacks of desperation and flop sweat. There's probably a place for movie theaters in the entertainment world of the future (ie today) But to insist that moviegoers continue to experience films the exact same way they've done since 1903 is just dumb. What if instead of clinging to the past, filmmakers were to embrace new models of making money and entertaining people? They won't, though. The main reaction the entrenched powers have to new tech is to sue it into oblivion or just engage in illegal behavior to put it down, the way @apple did ebooks.
